Mobile delivery of customised information using Natural Language Generation

چکیده
Research issues When devices can be interconnected and users can switch from one to the other, coherence and consistency across devices is important to avoid confusing the user. The emphasis must be on creating applications that work equally well on different devices and that are consistent across devices. The coherence of a document between different devices must be maintained to ease the comprehension and reduce confusion when users move from one device to another. The CSIRO Virtual Document Planner addresses these issues.

Document modelling for customised information delivery
As the amount of information available to people multiplies at an increasing speed, it becomes ever more important to deliver information customised to users’ specific needs. Natural Language Generation systems coupled with user modeling techniques have been built to address this issue, to produce information that is relevant to the users . A common approach adopted by such systems is an approa...
متن کاملUsing Information Extraction and Natural Language Generation to Answer E-Mail
This paper discusses the use of information extraction and natural language generation in the design of an automated e-mail answering system. We analyse short free-form texts and generating a customised and linguistically-motivated answer to frequently asked questions. We describe the approach and the design of a system currently being developed to answer e-mail in French regarding printerrelat...
متن کاملWYSIWYM - building user interfaces with natural language feedback
WYSIWYM (‘What you see is what you meant’) is a user-interface technique which uses natural language generation (NLG) technology to provide feedback for user interactions. To date, the technology has been applied in a number of demonstrator applications, using customised, nonportable implementations. In this demonstration, we introduce a WYSIWYM library package, designed to be used as a modular...

interests, or preferences, or that takes account of previous exchanges between the user and the system. For that to happen, the information must be stored in a different, nontextual fashion and turned into a spoken or written message in the user’s language when needed. This generation process can take into account the context and the user’s linguistic and personal preferences so that it looks t...
متن کاملAutomatic Tweet Generation From Traffic Incident Data
We examine the use of traffic information with other knowledge sources to automatically generate natural language tweets similar to those created by humans. We consider how different forms of information can be combined to provide tweets customized to a particular location and/or specific user. Our approach is based on data-driven natural language generation (NLG) techniques using corpora conta...
